Registration for the Air Guitar World Championships is open for competitors
Registration for the Air Guitar World Championships is now open for competitors. In addition to national champions, the top performers from the Dark Horses Qualifier will earn a place in the finals. Registration for the qualifier takes place in two phases. The first phase, an open Early Bird registration, is available from Tuesday 13 May until Tuesday 20 May 2025 at 23:59 (Finnish time).
This year the Early Bird sign-up round prioritizes those Air Guitarists whose home countries don’t host National Championships at the moment. This is a way to take into consideration those, who won’t have the opportunity brought by the national competition to represent as their countries national champion at the final, or as the official Dark Horse at the qualifications.
The Dark Horses will be chosen through raffle – not on first come first served basis. The first raffle will be between those contestants whose home countries don’t have nationals. The remaining spots will be then raffled between those whose home countries have nationals. Ten contestants will be drawn out from the first round. The second sign-up round which opens mid-July, everyone will have an equal chance in the raffle whether their home countries host nationals or not.
