Released in 1940, Fantasia was Disney’s third animated feature film. A celebration of image and sound, this dazzling spectacle consists of eight masterfully crafted episodes featuring everything from dancing hippos to Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. The journey beyond reality is set to iconic classical music. The abstract Bach sequence was inspired by the animations of Oskar Fischinger, whose work is also featured in Synesthetic Dreams screening.
