Aili Järvelä is a versatile musician and music maker who grew up in folk music, inspired by several genres. Järvelä, originally from Kaustinen, is known as a singer, songwriter, composer, arranger, violinist, producer and one of Järvelän pelimannit. Above all, he is known as a soulful and genuine interpreter.
Aili Järvelä has worked in several different ensembles and productions: among other things, he is a member of the folk music band Bergå Folk Project (BFP), has composed the musical Katrina, which premiered in January 2024, and has also published solo projects. Aili has composed and arranged almost all the songs for the Unituulia album, released in 2021, which was made in collaboration with the Finnish big band Sointi Jazz Orchestra. Now the Aili Järvelä & Unituuli quartet is coming to Elojazz to charm the audience with their soulful performance.

American guitarist, singer and composer Robben Ford, who is dedicated to music and has had a long career, will visit Elojazz as the soloist of the Oulu All Star Big Band. During his career, Ford has played in the band Yellowjackets, released more than 20 solo albums and played on the tours of George Harrison and Joni Mitchell, among others, and worked with many great artists, such as Miles Davis and Jimmy Witherspoon. According to his own words, Ford, who received five Grammy nominations, is not "just a guitarist" or "just a singer", but music is his whole life.
The songs of this blues rock guitar master have been arranged by the respected conductor Ed Partyka. American-born Partyka has worked as the artistic director and chief conductor of the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra and has collaborated with many European big bands. The talented Partyka is known for his precise musical expression and his imaginative and high-quality arrangements.
