Elojazz Club: Jimi Ahlroos Quartet

The Jimi Ahlroos Quartet is a newly formed band in Helsinki that plays Ahlroos' original compositions and arrangements of selected jazz standards. The composition's instrumentation appropriately does not include a chordal instrument. The interweaving of saxophone, trumpet, double bass and drums creates a unique soundscape through Ahlroos' compositions, which is acoustic, intimate and conversational.

At the concert, the material of the Jimi Ahlroos Trio's debut EP, which will be released at the end of the year, will be heard in its entirety. The material was recorded in November 2023 and Jazzaggression Records will release the album digitally and on vinyl later this year. After the concert, the album will be available for sale in vinyl format only for a limited advance batch before the actual release.
