Dance piece Lub-dub

Varikko Brewery will be offering dance art in August, when dancer Ida Remsu will bring her dance piece Lub-dub to Varikko. In the performance, a dancer and a percussionist meet in a playful and experimental interaction. The ten-minute dance piece, which originated from a question raised by a poem, has grown into a collaboration between two performers, where movement and rhythm support each other and bring the question into a visual experience. The dancer acts as the center of the work's expression, and the percussionist's presence strengthens the whole by bringing rhythmic energy and tension, which creates a performance that is sharp, interesting and easy for the audience to enjoy.

The collaboration of two experienced professionals builds a clear and impressive whole that weaves together cultural traditions and contemporary art in a unique and lively performance language.

The performances are part of the Oulu August Festivals' Delta Life's Artist is Born in the Delta project and the Oulu Delta Art Days as well as one of the art pilots of the Oulu Cultural Events Association's Saavuta – Audiences Equally Involved in Cultural Events project.
