Literary art festival Muusajuhlat (Muse Festival in English) is the most notable literary happening in Oulu area. The festival brings together poets, writers, musicians, and artists from all around Finland. The versatile programme offers something for literary enthusiasts of all ages. The festival hosts about 60 events during six days.
The programme is mostly in Finnish but there are also events that include multiple art forms and are suitable for non-Finnish speakers.
The Literary arts festival Muusajuhlat will be held from 10th to 15th of August in 2021. The events are centered at the Oulu City Library and Restaurant Tuba, but there are also events in other restaurants, libraries and nearby municipalities in Oulu. Most events are free of charge.
The nine poems or muses of antiquity have inspired humanity since ancient times. Now the muses are calling us to the world of reading and writing once again. The books delight, enchant and captivate. When reading them you can empathize, be charmed, reminisce, stray and linger – the books have all our stories and countless worlds.
The Literary arts festival Muusajuhlat is an interdisciplinary literary art festival, offers about 90 events over six days, most of which include author visits and literary discussions, but also music, theater and poetry performances. The 18th literary art festival promises a rich and varied program.
Guests include Heikki Turunen, Tiina Raevaara, Pelle Miljoona, Susinukke Kosola and Liisa Tavi and her accompanists, who will return to the concert stages.
