Oulu August Festival Presents series brings aerial acrobatics to Ainola Park. The meditative contemporary circus piece Hedera Helix by the Ilmatila Company can be experienced three times on 12–14 August, each night at 23:00.
The performances take place at Kiikkusaari island in Ainola Park, in small lit greenhouses. Each performance lasts approximately 30 min and has free entry.
Ilmatila is a Helsinki-based contemporary circus company producing performances that combine aerial acrobatics and other circus techniques with other art forms such as animated projections, contemporary dance and live music. Many of the company’s performances also have a strong site-specific or site-responsive aspect.
The piece is directed by the circus artist Ilona Jäntti from Ilmatila. Other performers in addition to Jäntti are the Czech Šárka Fülep Bočková and the German Natalie Reckert.
