An intimate jazz and rhythm music festival in the heart of Oulu. Festival offers atmospheric concerts in Rauhala area and free gigs at local bars on the first weekend of August.
Literary art festival Muusajuhlat is the most notable literary happening in Oulu area. Festival brings together poets, writers, musicians, and artists all around Finland.
Oulunsalo Soi Chamber Music Festival is known for its top performers, both Finnish and international. The artistic director of the festival is world-famous mezzo-soprano Virpi Räisänen.

Koiteli Elää Music Festival takes place by the Koiteli rapids in Kiiminki, about 20 kilometers from Oulu. Festival’s unique atmosphere is created by surrounding nature and music.
Incredible performances, international love and big emotions – Welcome to the airiest competition in the world! The Air Guitar World Championships is a celebration of love and peace – the culmination of the world-wide season of air guitar and gathers only the best to the battle in Oulu, already for 23rd time in August 2018.

Bassist Jori Huhtala’s trio is a new kind of concept of ensembles at the Finnish jazz field. Huhtala’s compositions combine both stormy and tender sounds. The trio’s acclaimed debut album came out in early 2018.

Johanna Iivanainen’s expectionally beautiful voice is well known from many contexts and it has been utilized by many jazz composers like Henrik Otto Donner, Eero Koivistoinen and Antti Sarpila. Recently Johanna, originally from Oulu, has become well known as the vocalist of the band at SuomiLOVE-tv-show.
Mikko Iivanainen published his first solo album Last room in 2014. He has played in many bands including Free Control, Loco Motife and Nordic Trinity. These two top musicians’ duo provides you a dreamy and atmospheric night. The concert includes mainly Johanna Iivanainen’s own compositions to Sinikka Svärd’s lyrics from the album Mustarastas laulaa. The duo also performs other songs that are close to them.

Manteque Quartet is a band from Oulu whose history originates all the way to the 90s. The band first played electric instruments but switched to acoustics along the years. Many of the songs tell you a story about going somewhere whether it’s by a sailing boat or a time machine.

Kos Mos is a modern neo-soul/r&b -music playing band from Oulu. The band gracefully combines electronic elements and traditional sounds which makes the totality hard to resist. The compositions are mostly by Joni Raikaslehto. The band’s musical idols are KNOWER, Thundercat and Hiatus Kayote among others.
